Valor Parent Pledge
Dear Valor Parents,

We are asking that all Valor’s parents partner with us in order to set and maintain appropriate boundaries and guidelines when they are hosting a party, social gathering or any similar type of activity in their home where students are present.  Please review the details below and consider joining with us in the Parent Pledge Program.

The purpose of the Valor Parent Pledge Program is to:

  • Increase adult awareness of the potential problems and risks of underage drinking, drug use and other dangerous behaviors;
  • Provide support to those parents who believe that teens should not engage in underage drinking, drug use, or any other dangerous or immoral behaviors;
  • Provide support for teens who desire to not engage in underage drinking, drug use, or any other dangerous or immoral behaviors.

Unfortunately, underage drinking and drug use is a serious problem in nearly every high school in our country. We desire that the Valor community be decidedly different in this regard and so we are providing a platform where parents can attest to their alignment with Valor in helping to maintain biblical and moral standards for our students.

Upon signing the Parent Pledge Program; you commit to the following when hosting a party or social gathering of Valor students:

  • Limit the size of the party to a reasonable and safe number of people.
  • Have plenty of adult chaperones who are actively involved.
  • Welcome any phone calls from other parents who wish to check in about the plans for the party.
  • Do not promote the party through emails or text messaging, and ask guests to respect that as well.
  • Do not admit strangers.
  • Do not supply or permit access to alcohol, cigarettes or drugs of any kind.
  • Do not allow alcohol or any open container to be brought in by guests.
  • Once guests leave, do not allow them to return.
  • If appropriate, alert your neighbors to the party ahead of time.
  • Decide a time that the party will end and stick to it.

For a list of the families who have pledged to support this program, contact Valor Partners at partners@valorchristian.com. Valor families will be able to use this list as a ready reference when your teen wishes to attend parties or gatherings hosted by other Valor families. Please review the above guidelines and consider signing this pledge if you want to become a supportive part of this program. Please do not sign the Parent Pledge if you do not intend to enforce it.

We are grateful for your ongoing support of Valor and we hope you will seriously consider joining and supporting this program. If we all work together, we will communicate to the Valor students that we care deeply for them and we will exhibit that we want their high school experience to be safe and enjoyable.
