Valor Students Win Awards in CHSPA's "Best of Colorado"

May 3, 2012:  The Colorado High School Press Association’s Best of Colorado contest has awarded Senior Elisabeth Armstrong an Honorable Mention for 4A Newspaper Commentary Writing for 2012. She submitted her article, ‘The Nanny State’, which appeared in the October edition of True Blue. Freshmen Caroline Fuschino was awarded 3rd Place for Best 4A Newspaper News-Feature Photograph. She submitted her front page photo of ‘The Foreigner’ from the September edition of True Blue.

These were awards in recognition of outstanding journalistic performance in the state of Colorado.

Judges hailed from Washington state, to Kansas, to Iowa, and to Colorado.

Celebrating the Boys Lacrosse Team’s Service Outreach

April 30, 2012:  In Valor’s spirit of service, over 50 students and coaches from the Boys Lacrosse team recently packed 36,000 meals for the poor in Haiti and Africa. They followed the event with a Hunger Feast to learn more about how it feels to eat what the majority of the world eats every day. What a great example of serving Christ through serving others. Valor Presents American Association of Physics Teachers Award to Three Outstan

April 24, 2012:  The American Association of Physics Teachers (AAPT) is the world leader in promoting physics education at all levels. Each year the Association supports its members in recognizing their outstanding physics students.

Valor Christian High School is honored to recognize these three outstanding physics students receiving the AAPT award:

Shakespeare in The Park: Three Slices of the Bard

April 20, 2012:  Civic Green Park Amphitheater, April 26 and 27 at 6:00 p.m.

Bring a picnic and join Valor's Theatre III class for Shakespeare in The Park: Three Slices of the Bard. We'll be presenting Twelfth Night, MacBeth and The Tempest in the form of three students directed half-hour plays. Admission is FREE and all are welcome!

Senior Lindsey Hutcheon Awarded 'Best of Show'

March 20, 2012:  Senior Lindsey Hutcheon was awarded 'Best of Show' Award Winner, receiving $1,750 in scholarship money in the Castle Rock Kiwanis Club Stars of Tomorrow competition.

Hutcheon sang a solo tune "Easy As Life" from the Broadway Musical, Aida. Castle Rock Kiwanis Club Stars of Tomorrow winner Best of Show advances to Rocky Mountain district competition in late April.
